Afri Invoice Nigeria Ltd has received official accreditation from the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) as a system integrator for Nigeria’s electronic invoicing platform under the Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS).
The accreditation authorises the company to connect businesses directly to the NRS real-time invoicing infrastructure, supporting secure digital tax reporting and compliance.
Nigeria Pushes Forward with Digital Tax Reform
The development comes as Nigeria accelerates implementation of its electronic invoicing framework as part of broader efforts to modernise tax administration.
Industry analysts say the transition toward real-time digital invoicing is expected to improve:
Tax transparency
Compliance monitoring
Invoice validation
Regulatory efficiency
The move also reflects growing adoption of regulatory technology within Nigeria’s digital economy.
Accreditation Positions Afri Invoice Within Emerging Tax Tech Ecosystem
With the approval, Afri Invoice joins a small group of organisations authorised to integrate enterprise invoicing systems directly into the NRS platform.
The company said the accreditation strengthens its position within Nigeria’s expanding tax technology and compliance market.
Founder of Afri Invoice, Mark Odenore, said the shift toward digital invoicing is embedding tax compliance into day-to-day business operations.
According to him, businesses increasingly require systems capable of supporting real-time reporting, audit readiness, and regulatory oversight.
Focus on Automation and Compliance
Afri Invoice said it has invested in enterprise integration systems, tax technology infrastructure, and regulatory intelligence ahead of the Federal Government’s broader e-Invoicing implementation drive.
The company’s platform is designed to help businesses transition from manual invoicing processes to automated and digitally compliant workflows.
Strategic Lead and Operations Director, Fatimata Niang, noted that effective e-Invoicing requires both technology and tax expertise.
She said businesses must integrate tax rules, data governance, and enterprise systems to manage compliance risks effectively.
Real-Time Validation and Data Governance
Under the accreditation, Afri Invoice will support organisations in:
Integrating invoicing systems with the NRS platform
Strengthening internal controls
Improving data governance
Enabling real-time invoice transmission and validation
The company said businesses adopting compliant e-Invoicing systems could benefit from improved operational accuracy and reduced compliance risks.
RegTech Gains Momentum in Nigeria
The accreditation highlights the growing role of regulatory technology (RegTech) in Nigeria’s evolving digital economy.
As tax authorities globally move toward real-time reporting systems, analysts say demand for automated compliance infrastructure is expected to increase across sectors.
Digitnomics Insight
Nigeria’s e-Invoicing push signals a broader shift toward digitised tax administration and real-time compliance systems. As regulatory frameworks become more technology-driven, businesses are increasingly being required to integrate automation, data governance, and tax reporting directly into their operational infrastructure.
