QNET has pledged to strengthen product communication, consumer education and responsible business practices as the direct-selling company seeks to build greater trust among consumers across African markets, including Nigeria.
The commitment was highlighted during the QNET V-Con Media Sharing Experience Webinar 2026, themed “Beyond the Headlines: Insights From V-Con 2026”, where the company’s executives discussed product innovation, consumer protection and the role of the media in improving public understanding of direct selling.
The webinar also featured four Nigerian journalists who shared their experiences following their visit to QNET’s V-Con 2026 in Penang, Malaysia, offering perspectives on the company’s operations, product presentations and approach to entrepreneurship.
Marlene Kaur, Head of Communications for QNET International Group and Global Head of Public Relations, said consumer confidence depended on the quality and performance of products, supported by transparent communication and responsible business practices.
She said the company was focused on strengthening compliance, consumer education and accountability as it continued to expand its product offerings and modernise its digital platforms.
According to Kaur, V-Con 2026 brought together more than 8,000 entrepreneurs and officials from over 30 countries, marking a milestone in QNET’s 28-year history.
The convention, held at the SPICE Arena in Penang, featured product exhibitions and interactive activities, giving attendees opportunities to learn about the company’s products and engage with its leadership.
Kaur said the convention’s theme, “Reform, Transform, Perform”, reflected the company’s priorities: strengthening responsible business practices, using technology to improve product discovery and business operations, and translating innovation into quality products and economic opportunities.
She also highlighted the importance of media engagement in providing accurate information, addressing concerns and helping consumers distinguish credible business opportunities from misleading claims.
Product innovation featured prominently at the convention, where QNET showcased the Amezcua GX1 Wellness Mat, PhysioRadiance Aura Skincare and the Interra Chronograph.
Kaur described the products as reflecting the company’s focus on lifestyle offerings across wellness, skincare and personal care, and luxury timepieces.
She added that QNET was also investing in its digital infrastructure to improve e-commerce experiences, strengthen supply-chain visibility and support its independent distributors across different markets.
Cherif Nassirou Abdoulaye, QNET’s Regional General Manager for Central and West Africa, said ethical entrepreneurship, product quality and consumer protection remained important to building confidence in direct selling.
He said the company was working to address challenges arising from individuals who misuse its name or misrepresent its products and business opportunities.
According to Abdoulaye, QNET was strengthening customer-verification procedures and distributor education to promote responsible engagement with its business.
He also highlighted Q-Learn, the company’s digital learning platform, which provides training in areas including digital marketing, professional ethics and business management.
QNET further cited its Say No campaign and FinGreen financial-literacy programme in Nigeria as part of its stated efforts to promote responsible business practices and improve public awareness.
The company maintained that it had zero tolerance for unethical conduct and the misrepresentation of its products or business opportunities.
For a direct-selling business, clear product information is particularly important because consumers often encounter products through independent distributors rather than conventional retail outlets. The information provided about product features, intended uses, pricing and performance can therefore shape purchasing decisions and influence trust in both the distributor and the company.
The Nigerian journalists who participated in the webinar also shared observations from their visits to V-Con 2026, including the product presentations and explanations provided during the convention.
Francis Sule said he initially approached QNET with scepticism but gained a broader understanding of its operations after attending the convention and visiting its facilities.
He highlighted the product presentations, which included the Interra Chronograph, PhysioRadiance Aura Skincare and Edge Plus, and said the explanations provided covered product components, technology and certifications.
His main takeaway was the need to “verify before you engage”, which he said was relevant to journalists and consumers evaluating business opportunities.
Friday Olokor said the convention broadened his understanding of QNET’s operations, leadership, products and international presence. He also highlighted the importance of the company’s stated efforts to protect consumers and address activities by people allegedly misusing its name.
Royal Ibeh, a business journalist who attended an earlier V-Con in 2024, focused on the technology presented behind QNET’s products, including its HomePure water-purification range and wellness products.
He said the experience drew his attention to the relationship between product development, technology and consumer needs, particularly water-quality challenges in African communities.
Prince Osuagwu, Hi-Tech Editor of Vanguard Newspapers, said his experience attending an earlier V-Con in 2022 challenged some of his initial assumptions about QNET.
He said interacting with entrepreneurs, examining products and observing the convention helped him develop a more informed perspective on the company’s operations.
The journalists’ accounts highlighted the role of firsthand engagement in understanding a company’s products and business model. However, product-performance claims, scientific assertions and representations about business opportunities still require appropriate evidence and independent verification.
QNET said Nigeria remained one of its valued markets and that its long-term engagement with the country included supporting local entrepreneurs, participating in social-impact initiatives and maintaining dialogue with communities.
For the wider African market, the company’s emphasis on clearer product information and consumer education comes as digital commerce and alternative distribution models create new ways for businesses to reach customers.
Building consumer confidence in such environments requires more than product promotion. Transparent information, responsible distributor conduct, accessible complaint channels and effective procedures for addressing misleading claims all contribute to how consumers assess a brand.
QNET’s latest media engagement placed these issues alongside its focus on product innovation and entrepreneurship, with the company expressing its commitment to accountability and responsible business practices.
As direct selling continues to feature in discussions about alternative business models, the ability of companies to communicate clearly about their products and protect consumer interests will remain important to building lasting trust across African markets.
