QNET has commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for its recent operation in Lagos State that led to the rescue of several individuals and the arrest of suspects allegedly involved in human trafficking, unlawful detention, and fraudulent activities, reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on fraud and human trafficking.
The global wellness and lifestyle-focused direct selling company, in a statement issued on Wednesday, condemned all forms of human trafficking, exploitation, unlawful detention, fraud, and related criminal activities while expressing support for ongoing investigations into the case.
QNET stressed that it does not offer employment opportunities, overseas job placements, visa processing services, migration assistance, or guaranteed financial returns in exchange for payment. The company noted that any individual or group making such claims is acting without its authorization or consent.
Commenting on the development, QNET’s Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Biram Fall, expressed concern for those affected and urged members of the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes.
“Our thoughts are with those impacted by this unfortunate situation. QNET does not offer jobs, overseas employment opportunities, visa services, or financial guarantees in exchange for payment. These are among the most common tactics used by fraudsters to exploit vulnerable individuals,” Fall said.
He encouraged prospective customers and business partners to verify information through the company’s official channels and report suspicious activities to relevant authorities.
QNET said it maintains strict compliance standards and enforces disciplinary measures against any Independent Distributor found to have violated its Code of Ethics and Compliance Framework.
Since entering the Nigerian market through its local partner, Transblue Limited, in 2022, the company said it has intensified collaboration with government agencies, consumer protection bodies, law enforcement institutions, and the media to tackle scams and misinformation linked to its brand.
Among its initiatives is the “Say NO!” Anti-Fraud Campaign launched in 2023, alongside partnerships with consumer protection and labour institutions aimed at increasing public awareness of fraudulent recruitment and investment schemes.
The company noted that similar anti-scam programmes have also been implemented across several African countries, including Ghana, Senegal, Burkina Faso, and Sierra Leone, under its broader campaign against scams and fraudulent activities.
QNET reaffirmed its commitment to working with regulators, law enforcement agencies, civil society groups, and other stakeholders to combat fraud, protect consumers, and promote ethical entrepreneurship across Africa.
