LG Electronics has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence (AI)-powered consumer technologies at the Africa Technology Expo (ATE) 2026, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Africa’s digital transformation through smart living innovations.
As a supporting sponsor of the two-day event, LG is using the platform to demonstrate how AI, connected devices and energy-efficient technologies are reshaping modern homes and workplaces while contributing to a more digitally connected Africa.
The Africa Technology Expo brings together technology companies, policymakers, innovators, entrepreneurs and enterprise leaders to foster collaboration and accelerate digital innovation across the continent.
At the centre of LG’s exhibition is an ecosystem of intelligent home solutions designed to deliver convenience, connectivity and sustainability. Visitors are experiencing live demonstrations of the company’s latest AI-enabled products, including the LG QNED television, the MoodUP refrigerator with customisable LED panels, the LG WashTower laundry solution, the ARTCOOL air conditioner, the LG Air Tower, dehumidifiers and other smart appliances.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director of LG Electronics West Africa, Mr. H.S. Ji, said the company’s focus extends beyond developing cutting-edge devices to creating technologies that improve everyday living.

“Technology should solve real problems and make life better. Our participation at Africa Technology Expo reflects LG’s commitment to supporting Africa’s digital transformation while introducing intelligent solutions that make homes and workplaces smarter, healthier and more energy-efficient,” he said.
Beyond showcasing products, LG’s participation highlights the growing role of AI and the Internet of Things (IoT) in Africa’s evolving technology landscape. By seamlessly connecting home appliances and entertainment systems, the company’s ecosystem demonstrates how intelligent devices can improve user experience while reducing energy consumption.
Organisers of the Africa Technology Expo said the platform was created to deepen collaboration between African businesses, startups and multinational organisations. They noted that previous editions of the expo have facilitated business deals worth approximately $192 million, underscoring the event’s growing influence in advancing innovation and enterprise development across the continent.
For LG, the exhibition represents more than a product showcase. It is an opportunity to demonstrate how AI-powered consumer technologies can support digital inclusion, sustainability and economic growth as Africa continues to embrace smart technologies.
With AI becoming increasingly integrated into everyday life, LG says it will continue investing in innovations that empower consumers, enable connected lifestyles and contribute to the continent’s expanding digital economy.
