Chris Maurice, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Yellow Card, has been named to the Stablecoins Most Influential 2026 list, joining a select group of global executives driving the next phase of digital finance through stablecoin innovation.
The recognition, announced by Stablecon, celebrates individuals making significant contributions to the growth and adoption of stablecoins worldwide. The annual list evaluates leaders across six regions using criteria that include influence, innovation, industry impact, momentum and peer recognition.
Maurice joins a high-profile lineup that includes Coinbase President and COO Emilie Choi, Stripe CEO and Co-founder Patrick Collison, Paxos CEO Charles Cascarilla and BlackRock Chairman and CEO Larry Fink.
The recognition highlights Yellow Card’s growing influence in the global digital asset ecosystem, particularly across emerging markets where stablecoins are increasingly being used for cross-border payments, treasury management and protection against currency volatility.
Since launching Yellow Card, Maurice has become one of Africa’s leading voices on stablecoin adoption. He has addressed global conferences attended by heads of state, advised financial regulators and policymakers, and was recognised in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2023. His insights have also been featured by international media including CNBC, Bloomberg, BBC, Forbes and Business Insider.
Reflecting on the recognition, Maurice said the company’s early commitment to stablecoins is now yielding results.
“Many years ago, we took a bet on stablecoins when few people could see what the future of finance would look like. Today, being celebrated among the leaders of this industry tells me that bet is paying off. Conviction is the only currency that matters before the world catches up to you,” he said.
Under his leadership, Yellow Card says it has processed more than $7.5 billion in transaction volume over the past 12 months while expanding operations beyond Africa into Latin America, Southeast Asia and North America.
The company has also attracted investment from leading blockchain-focused venture capital firms, including Polychain Capital, Blockchain Capital and Coinbase Ventures. It has further strengthened its global footprint through partnerships with major payment companies such as Visa, Mastercard and PayPal.
Yellow Card’s momentum has also been recognised through several industry awards, including the Grand Prix in the Payments category at the Money20/20 USA Awards in 2025 and a place on the inaugural Fortune Crypto Innovators 2026 list.
As stablecoins continue to gain traction as a bridge between traditional finance and digital assets, Maurice’s latest recognition underscores the growing role African fintech leaders are playing in shaping the future of global payments and financial infrastructure.
