… Backs Immigration Service Crackdown on Alleged Criminal Syndicate
QNET has denied any link with Ignite following the arrest of 12 individuals by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) over alleged fraudulent recruitment, irregular migration and other criminal activities.
In a statement, the direct-selling company said reports describing the suspects as members of a “QNET/IGNITE network” were inaccurate, stressing that Ignite is a separate entity with no affiliation or authority to act on behalf of QNET.
The company urged media organisations and the public to avoid conflating the two organisations, warning that such claims could mislead the public and unfairly associate QNET with criminal activities beyond its control.
According to QNET, it has been cooperating with the Nigeria Immigration Service and will continue to provide relevant information to support ongoing investigations.
The company also clarified that “Model Q,” increasingly used by law enforcement agencies, refers to criminal schemes in which fraudsters impersonate legitimate direct-selling companies and established brands to lure victims with false promises of employment, overseas travel, migration opportunities or guaranteed financial returns.
QNET stressed that “Model Q” does not describe its legitimate business operations but rather criminal activities carried out through the unauthorised use of company and brand names.
The company reiterated that it does not offer employment, visas, overseas travel or guaranteed income through its independent distributors. Instead, its business model is based solely on the direct sale of wellness and lifestyle products.
QNET warned that anyone using its name to solicit money for jobs, migration opportunities, travel arrangements or investment schemes is acting without its authorisation.
The company noted that it has been a victim of repeated brand impersonation by criminal syndicates and has been working with law enforcement agencies in Nigeria and other countries to identify suspects, share intelligence and protect potential victims.
QNET commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for what it described as an intelligence-led operation that led to the rescue of victims and the disruption of an alleged transnational criminal network.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting authorities in bringing those who exploit its brand for illegal activities to justice.
It also advised members of the public to verify any business representation involving QNET through its official channels and to report suspicious job offers, travel opportunities, migration schemes or investment proposals presented in the company’s name.
