International wellness and lifestyle company, QNET, in partnership with English Premier League champions Manchester City, has taken its youth football development initiative to Ghana, delivering world-class coaching and mentorship to young players as part of a broader commitment to youth empowerment and community development across Africa.
The four-day football clinic, held in Accra from May 21 to 24, brought together 25 promising footballers aged between seven and 11 for intensive coaching sessions led by official Manchester City coaches.
Hosted at AIS School Park in East Legon, the programme assembled boys and girls from different communities across Ghana, providing them with access to professional football training methods, mentorship and life-skills development inspired by one of the world’s most successful football clubs.
For many of the young participants, the clinic represented more than an opportunity to sharpen football skills. It offered exposure, inspiration and a chance to believe that talent, discipline and hard work can open doors to greater opportunities.
Football occupies a central place in Ghana’s social and cultural identity, with generations of young people seeing the sport as both passion and possibility. QNET and Manchester City said the initiative was designed to support that aspiration while creating a more inclusive platform for youth development.
The clinic focused on technical football training, tactical awareness and athletic development, while also emphasising teamwork, leadership, perseverance, discipline and self-confidence.
Speaking on the initiative, Trevor Kuna, Chief of Network Development at QNET, said football remains a powerful tool for connecting young people and creating pathways for growth.
“Football does something that few things can — it cuts across language, background and circumstance and gives young people a common language of ambition,” Kuna said.
“When you watch these children on the pitch, you see not just their talent but their hunger to grow, to prove themselves, and to be seen. At QNET, we believe that hunger deserves to be met with opportunity, and that is exactly what this clinic is about.”
The Ghana programme builds on QNET’s growing investment in sports-led youth engagement across Africa.
According to Cherif Abdoulaye, QNET’s Deputy Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, lessons from a similar football clinic hosted in Nigeria in 2023 helped shape the expansion into Ghana.

“When QNET took this initiative to Nigeria in 2023, we saw first-hand what happens when young people are given access to world-class coaching in their own communities — it shifts something in how they see themselves and what they believe is possible,” Abdoulaye said.
“Bringing it to Ghana felt like the natural next step. Ghana has a football culture that runs deep and a new generation ready to carry it forward. We are proud that QNET and Manchester City can be part of that story.”
Manchester City officials said the programme aligns with the club’s broader community engagement and football development objectives.
Philipa Harrison, Partnerships Marketing Manager for City Football Group’s Middle East and North Africa region, said the sessions were designed to help children grow both as players and individuals.
“Over the past few days, we have witnessed tremendous passion, energy and commitment from these young players,” Harrison said.
“This football clinic is about helping young people develop their abilities, enjoy the game and believe in what they can achieve in the future. We are proud to partner with QNET to bring this experience to young players in Ghana.”
The initiative reflects QNET’s long-running sports partnerships strategy and its efforts to use sport as a platform for education, empowerment and social impact.
QNET has maintained a partnership with Manchester City for more than a decade as the club’s Official Direct Selling Partner. The company also works with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), supporting leading continental competitions including the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
According to the company, these partnerships reflect a broader commitment to supporting youth development, expanding sports participation and promoting community engagement across African markets.
Beyond sports sponsorships, QNET said it continues to focus on ethical business practices, consumer education and transparency while collaborating with regulators and authorities to address misuse of its brand by unauthorised individuals.
Founded in 1998, QNET operates a direct-selling business model and offers products across wellness, personal care, home solutions, luxury goods and travel services through its global e-commerce platform.
The company said its broader mission remains centred on entrepreneurship, personal development and its guiding philosophy of RYTHM – Raise Yourself To Help Mankind.
