The MTN Foundation has commenced applications for the 20th edition of its MUSON Music Scholars Programme, marking two decades of collaboration with the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) to provide professional music education opportunities for young Nigerians.
Since the partnership began in 2006, the programme has supported more than 500 aspiring musicians with fully funded scholarships to study at the MUSON School of Music, helping to remove financial barriers while strengthening Nigeria’s creative and cultural industries.
Applications opened on Monday, July 20, 2026, and are open to qualified Nigerians who meet the admission requirements of the MUSON School of Music and demonstrate a strong passion for music.
Successful candidates will receive scholarships covering tuition fees, textbooks and other approved course-related expenses throughout the duration of their studies.

Speaking on the milestone, Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, said the 20-year partnership reflects the Foundation’s long-term commitment to youth development through education and talent empowerment.

According to the Foundation, interested applicants are advised to carefully review the admission requirements of the MUSON School of Music and ensure all required documents are submitted before the application deadline.
The MUSON Music Scholars Programme remains one of the MTN Foundation’s flagship education initiatives, aimed at equipping young Nigerians with the technical skills, discipline and professional training required to build sustainable careers in the music industry.
Applications can be submitted through the MTN Foundation scholarship portal, while detailed admission requirements are available on the MUSON School of Music website.
The application window closes on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
