The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) is set to convene key stakeholders across law, finance, technology and policy at its 20th Annual International Business Law Conference, with conversations expected to focus on policy impact, investment growth and the future of Nigeria’s business environment.
Scheduled to hold in Abuja from June 8 to 10, 2026, the conference is themed “Beyond Reforms: Measuring Policy Impact.”
Organisers say the event will shift discussions from policy formulation to evaluating how reforms are influencing business performance, investor confidence and economic development.
Over the last two decades, the NBA-SBL conference has evolved into one of the country’s leading platforms for engagement between the legal community, regulators, investors and corporate executives on issues shaping Nigeria’s commercial ecosystem.
Speaking on the significance of the milestone edition, Chairman of NBA-SBL, Ozofu ‘Latunde Ogiemudia, said the focus this year is on measurable outcomes and sustainable progress.
“Twenty years on, this conference has evolved into more than a gathering of professionals; it is a platform that actively shapes how law supports business growth and economic development in Nigeria,” he said.
According to him, the conference will interrogate the effectiveness of reforms across sectors and identify what is required to strengthen the business climate and unlock long-term investment opportunities.
The organisers said this year’s programme has been designed to deliver practical insights through keynote sessions, expert-led panels and case-driven discussions covering business law, finance, governance, innovation and regulation.
The Chair of the Conference Planning Committee noted that the sessions would focus on actionable strategies capable of driving stronger collaboration between government, regulators and the private sector.
Beyond policy conversations, the conference is also expected to serve as a networking hub for investors, business leaders, founders and industry stakeholders seeking partnerships and growth opportunities.
Headline sponsors for the conference include Aluko & Oyebode, Duale, Ovia & Alex-Adedipe, and Banwo & Ighodalo.
NBA-SBL said the conference reflects its broader commitment to shaping policies and legal frameworks that support enterprise growth, innovation and economic competitiveness in Nigeria.
